Find out what interests your children and find books for them. Do they like action/adventure, then read an action book out loud. Do they like to learn about animals? Find some great animal stories to read to them.
If your child still has no interest in reading don't fret. They will most likely grow into it. Many kids just need time to develop an interest in reading. As they continue to mature they are also more likely to develop a passion for Reading Books, even for leisurely reading.
When you are presented opportunities and choices from the books that you read, you will see how many decisions belong to you, and how you may be affected by your decisions. Reading will help you to make up your own mind, by helping you to sort through choices and their possible outcomes.
The paper book is totally self-contained and sustainable - once the trees that made it have been replaced. But it is easily ripped and creased by careless use. Spilled water bloats the paper and distorts it. Deadly fire destroys it in seconds. And Philistines dog-ear its wisdom-filled pages. Yet, if mollycoddled, the same book is read and reread for years, acquiring a special charm, becoming a friend, as cosy and comforting as a pet on your lap.
Days passed. One afternoon, I got a text message from Jane inviting me for a walk/food trip to de-stress. Since I've been inching to go to Must-read books Cubao Expo and have a look at the bookstore which I'd also dreamed of during one of my afternoon naps, I immediately replied yes and suggested we go to Cubao.
I personally like to read ordinary books as it is much faster and I have visual type of memory. Nevertheless, I will not count out audio books as the due to the benefit of multi-tasking. For example, I listen to them while driving longer distances.
